Ganadería de Herederos de Don Manuel Santos Alcalde. Finca “Los Talayos”
The finca is located in Ciudad Rodrigo, a town declared Historical Site and situated in the middle of the meadow, a unique ecosystem where bulls are cared for by qualified people. These people also live with these bulls and love them.
In “Los Talayos” they make guided tours by all-wheel cars, minibuses of trucks with a tower, according to the number of people who are visiting the enclosure: The visitors go with a guide who will explain everything related to the bull breeding, the Young bulls, the cows and the stud. Apart from that, they offer the possibility of getting to know the way of life of the Iberian pigs.
This enclosure also has the biggest herd of sheep in Castile and Leon. This is a great opportunity to get to know everything about this black merino sheep breed which is an endangered species and, as a consequence, especially marked as an “especial protection species”. The cows which belong to the Bernarda cow breeding also graze in this meadow.
“Los Talayos” is a good place to celebrate a country fiesta or enjoy a hunting day out, tasting the cold meats, cured meat, black merino kid, suckling pigs, fighting bull meat and home-made desserts.
