The Oil Museum

The Oil Museum, called “Lagar del Mundo” (The Olive Press of the World), is located in an old olive mill whose restoration earned it the Europa Nostra Medal. The history of the olive tree and oil is explained there by means of different resources.

In the different rooms of the museum, the process of the olives which turns into the valuable olive oil is explained: they put the olives in the small olive-presses in the patio, then the pressing procedure and the oil extraction in the mill, to finish with the conservation in the jars.

Some objects related to the oil and its different uses: pots, baskets, lamps, and even an old cart. There is a well-stocked shop with typical products of the area.
