Sendero de los Frutos
There is an easy 9 km long return route from the village of Ahigal de los Aceiteros to the setting of La Carrasquera.
The walk goes from the reserves devoted to shepherding and traditional crops of Las Arribes to the nearby valley of the river Agueda, where the landscape becomes rougher. Then, there is a close forest full of stones; this is the end of the route, a good place to view Las Arribes of the river Agueda, look at the nature in its pure state and turn your eyes to the sky where the eagles, griffon vultures and Egyptian vultures take care of the silent valley.
This is a path designed to enjoy and understand this natural setting as a small summary of the river landscape. You can discover wild fruit and grown ones, which have been and still are the essence of the life in this area; you can also discover the efforts of the inhabitants of these lands to turn this rough landscape into a human fertile one.
