Ganadería Herederos de Miguel Zaballos. Finca “Valdelacoba”. Faenas Camperas
In “Valdelacoba” the visitors will be able to see the way the fighting bulls are bred and selected, the way the bulls live freely in the meadows and how the health control of the bulls is carried out carefully.
Miguel Zaballos descendants have kept the tradition since they took the control of the finca because these dehesas have been the habitat of the bull for many centuries. However, they have included some native breeds in the last years, such as the berrendo colorado.
The Iberian pigs also graze among the holm oaks of this meadow. Thus, this is a good opportunity to get to know the unique way this animal live around, walking in the forest and being bred by acorns. The result of this unique way of life is that the Iberian ham pata negra has a unique flavour and the embutidos (cold cured meats) are an unforgettable experience when you eat them.
The visitors can also enjoy the facilities where the cattle is managed: farmyards, trial bull rings, mangas, chiqueros, palco…
The finca is close to Ledesma and the Natural Park of Las Arribes del Duero, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
