Nature Art Paths, in the Sierra de Francia
Four interesting routes located in the amazing region of the Sierra de Francia are included in the Nature Art Paths (Caminos de Arte en la Naturaleza).
This is an original proposal for active tourism; the hikers will be surprised by the works of art installed along the routes: cages over the valley, mermeids beside the river, bronze feathers, asteroids inside a hermitage, doors in the middle of the countryside, sewed up stones or organic beds.
These routes are: the Camino de los Prodigios, between Miranda del Castañar and Villanueva del Conde; the Asentadero-Bosque de los Espejos, which joins Sequeros, Las Casas del Conde and San Martín del Castañar; the Camino de las Raíces, near La Alberca; and the Camino del Agua, which goes between Mogarraz and Monforte de la Sierra.
All of them are circular routes and they are around 7 and 10 km long. The different routes go through the Natural Park of Las Batuecas-Sierra de Francia, a labyrinth of hidden valleys which are environmentally interesting and have been declared UNESCO Biosphere Reserves together with the Sierra de Francia.
