Gastronomy in Béjar: El Calderillo
The calderillo in one of the most popular meals of the region. It is a simple popular stew whose ingredients are beef meat, potatoes and vegetables. Everything is cooked slowly with the special touch of patience and skill.
In the month of August, which is usually the holiday period for everybody, the Council organizes a gastronomy contest every year. It is called the day of “el calderillo”, a gastronomy fiesta which draws the attention on the inhabitants of the town and visitors.
