Salamanca, World Heritage

Salamanca, Historic Site and UNESCO World Heritage City, is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, a place full of culture, knowledge, universities; it is the city of the Spanish language.

The Plaza Mayor can be the starting point, because it is the most important place of the city. Then, walk towards the Cathedrals and the University and you will be able to enjoy other spectacular monuments such as La Clerecia and the Casa de las Conchas. Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque…Salamanca is an open air museum where you can enjoy all kinds of architecture styles.

At sunset, the rays of sunlight seem to light the unique sandy stone from Villamayor of the façades, and this will make the visit to Salamanca become an unforgettable experience.

The city boasts a number of important monuments: why not take a walk along the Roman Bridge, where the verraco of El Lazarillo de Tormes is situated; the Casa Lis; the convents of San Esteban and the Ursulas; the palaces of Monterrey and Fonseca and La Purisima Church, among others.

The best way to get to know Salamanca is strolling along the streets. It is the only way to discover the squares, small streets and corners of a welcoming lively city, an amazing city.
