Religious tourism
Throughout its geography, Salamanca province has a varied religious heritage which makes tours and getaways more appealing. In addition to the cathedrals, the churches and the convents of the province of Salamanca, there are many other monuments worth visiting, such as the Cathedral of Ciudad Rodrigo, which is at the same level as those of the rest of the country.
Ancient monasteries, humble chapels and humilladeros (sanctuaries at the entrance of the villages) are erected in beautiful Salamancan corners. To the east of the province, there are plenty of Mudejar churches, whereas the lands of Alba, Peñaranda and La Armuña keep in their churches great coffered ceilings and altarpieces.
