In these environments, we can point out the existence of different kinds of birds: great bustards, golden eagles, bonelli´s eagles, Spanish imperial eagles, black storks, great flocks of griffon vultures and black vultures, not forgetting the colourful little birds, the magic bee-eaters, the always hidden lesser whitethroats or the singing nightingales.
In fact, within the network Natura 2000, the province has 13 Nature Protection Areas (ZEC) and Special Protection Areas for Birds (ZEPA), covering a surface of 279. 267 hectares.
